MRSA Prevention

Good hygiene practices and a strong immune system are at the forefront of MRSA prevention.

Being healthy with a strong immune system that will fight off staph infections or lessen there severity is always the number one preventive measure with MRSA or as a matter of fact any other disease as well.

Good solid hygiene is essential especially in any high risk community setting such as the gym, day care center, nursing home and other facilities where there is close person to person contact.

Always wash your hands and under your fingernails thoroughly. Never share towels, washcloths, razors, sheets etc. with others. These items can harbor the MRSA bacteria and may spread it to you. Always wear some type of shoes in any high risk public shower facility such as at the gym or beach. Cover cuts and wounds with a bandage. This will help prevent spreading bacteria to others. Also never ever touch other person's wound. These steps are essential especially in any high risk setting.
